District Development Officer started youth vaccination campaign in rural areas of Vadodara district

Additional District Health Officer of Vadodara Dr. Uday Tilawat’s daughter Haley was vaccinated at her school Ambe Vidyalaya in Manjalpur area of city on the first day of vaccination drive for youths between the age of 15 to 18 years. He said that the vaccination is safe and protecting the youths against corona, so parents should vaccinate their children.

Enthusiasm and excitement were seen among the youngsters who came for vaccination at various centres raised in schools. Many of them said in a conversation that their parents were afraid to send them to school as we were not vaccinated. Even when we were taking classes there is a concern in minds. Now after getting vaccinated, parents will send us to school without any hesitation and we too will be able to study without fear of corona. We did not notice any side effects from the vaccine.

Meanwhile District Development Officer Dr. Rajendra Patel started the health campaign to vaccinate the youth in the rural areas of the district from Seth Jagaji Vidyalaya in Sokhada village of Vadodara district.  He requested the parents to vaccinate the children born before 31/12/2007 and in the age group of 15 to 18 years at the nearest center.  He said that vaccination of adolescents is a major step in providing protection against corona. Chief District Health Officer Dr. Surendra Jain and Additional District Health Officer Dr. Uday Tilawat were present there.

Based on the survey in Vadodara district, approximately 203 centers have been set up in schools and government hospitals to give corona vaccine to approximately 69000 teenagers in age group of 15 to 18 years. adolescents of the above age group. The state government has made available the amount of covaxin vaccine. The campaign has got the cooperation of education department and educational institutions.
